Your adventure begins early! At 4:30 AM, our Allpackers Expedition team will pick you up from your hotel. Get ready for an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Andes!
🚌 Scenic Drive Through the Sacred Valley
We’ll embark on a 3.5-hour drive through the breathtaking landscapes of the Sacred Valley. Along the way, admire picturesque Andean villages, vast agricultural terraces, and towering mountain peaks.
🥐 Breakfast Stop (6:30 AM – Not Included)
Around 6:30 AM, we’ll take a 30-minute stop at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast and use the restrooms before continuing our journey.
📍 Starting Point: Kilometer 82 (2,700m / 8,858ft)
From here, our trek officially begins! After meeting our porters and receiving a quick briefing, we’ll set off on the legendary Inca Trail.
🌿 Hiking Through History (12km / 7.5 miles – Approx. 7 Hours)
Our first day is a gentle and scenic introduction to the trek, allowing you to acclimatize while enjoying the stunning surroundings.
We’ll follow the Cusichaca Valley, passing through lush vegetation and spotting native bird species along the way.
One of the highlights is Llactapata, an ancient Inca site featuring impressive agricultural terraces and stone structures—a perfect spot for photos and historical insights!
As we hike, we’ll be treated to spectacular views of the towering Verónica Mountain (5,900m / 19,000ft), one of the highest peaks in the region.
⛺ Night at Ayapata Campsite (3,300m / 10,829ft)
Unlike most groups, we’ll hike a bit further to Ayapata, a quieter campsite nestled in nature. This gives us an advantage for the next day, making our ascent to the Dead Woman’s Pass easier.

🚀 The Toughest, Yet Most Rewarding Day!
Today is known as the most challenging yet exhilarating day of the trek! We will conquer two high mountain passes, including the infamous Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200m / 13,779ft)—the highest point of the journey. Covering 16km (10 miles) in about 10 hours, this day will test your endurance, but reward you with unforgettable views and ancient ruins.
🌄 Early Start & The Ascent to Dead Woman’s Pass
⏰ Wake-up Call: Before sunrise, our team will greet you with a warm cup of coca tea to energize you for the climb ahead. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off on the most demanding part of the trail.
📍 Ayapata to Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200m / 13,779ft)
The trail steadily ascends through cloud forests and high-altitude landscapes, providing breathtaking views of the Andean peaks.
Keep an eye out for White-Tailed Deer and the rare Andean Spectacled Bear that sometimes roams these heights.
After several hours of climbing, we will finally conquer Dead Woman’s Pass, the highest and most legendary point of the Inca Trail.
At the summit, take a deep breath, celebrate your achievement, and soak in the incredible 360° views!
🏛️ Descending & Exploring Inca Sites
📉 Descent to Pacaymayu Valley (3,500m / 11,482ft)
A steep descent leads us into the Pacaymayu Valley, where we’ll stop for a well-earned lunch.
After refueling, we prepare for the second ascent of the day toward the next pass.
📍 Second Pass & Runkurakay Ruins (3,950m / 12,959ft)
After lunch, we’ll climb to the Runkurakay Pass, with its impressive oval-shaped Incan watchtower perched on the mountainside.
Here, you’ll step back in time and learn about the fascinating history of the Incas from our expert guides.
📍 Sayacmarca (3,600m / 11,811ft) & The Enchanted Cloud Forest
As we continue downhill, we’ll reach Sayacmarca, another stunning Incan fortress with breathtaking mountain views.
The landscape transforms into a mystical cloud forest, filled with Polylepis trees, orchids, and exotic birds.
🌅 Arrival at Chaquicocha Campsite (3,600m / 11,800ft)

Tonight, we camp at Chaquicocha, a quiet and secluded spot.

Inca Trail – Day 3: The Most Scenic Day! 🌿🏛️
After conquering the two high passes yesterday, today we get to relax and truly enjoy the most breathtaking scenery the Inca Trail has to offer. With a shorter and more gentle hike along the famous “Inca Flat” (a mix of easy ascents and descents), this is the perfect day to immerse yourself in the magic of the Andes.
☀️ Wake Up in the Clouds!
Our day starts with a beautiful sunrise over the mountains and a warm breakfast to fuel us for the journey ahead.
As we set off, we walk through lush cloud forests, surrounded by exotic orchids, hanging mosses, and colorful birds.
🏛️ Exploring Hidden Inca Treasures
📍 Phuyupatamarca – “The Town Above the Clouds” (3,670m / 12,040ft)
After a gentle climb, we arrive at one of the most stunning viewpoints of the entire trail.
This well-preserved Inca site, perched high on a mountain ridge, offers panoramic views of the Urubamba River and the distant peaks.
Our guide will reveal the mysteries of this sacred site, believed to have been an important astronomical and ceremonial center.
📍 Descending into the Jungle 🌿
From here, the landscape changes dramatically as we descend through dense, misty cloud forests.
The trail becomes a magical pathway, with ancient stone staircases, hidden waterfalls, and the songs of Andean birds filling the air.

Arriving at our final campsite, we visit Wiñay Wayna, one of the most breathtaking Incan ruins on the trail.

🌅 Sunrise at the Inca Trail & The Sun Gate
⏰ Early Wake-up & Checkpoint
Before dawn, we wake up full of excitement. After a light breakfast, we head straight to the checkpoint to be among the first to enter as soon as the gates open.
🚶♂️ Hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku)
A short yet stunning trek takes us to the legendary Sun Gate (Inti Punku).
As we walk, the morning mist slowly lifts, and suddenly… Machu Picchu reveals itself in all its glory!
This is the magical moment—your first breathtaking panoramic view of the Lost City of the Incas. Get ready for unforgettable photos!

Upon entering the citadel, we immerse ourselves in its fascinating history through the Inca Trail Circuit (Circuit 3)—the only route authorized for Inca Trail trekkers.

🚆 Return to Cusco – A Journey Filled with Memories
In the afternoon, we descend to Aguas Calientes, where we board the touritic train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, our private transport will take us back to Cusco, where our epic adventure comes to an end.
