Day 1Detailed Itinerary

04:00 – 04:30 AM | Pickup from your hotel

Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Cusco for an early departure. We begin our journey toward the south of the region, enjoying quiet roads and sunrise views over the Andes.

Drive to Cusipata – Breakfast stop (optional)

We make a brief stop in Cusipata where you can buy breakfast or use the restroom before continuing the drive to the trailhead.

Arrival at Trailhead – Start of the Hike

The adventure begins with a beautiful hike across Andean plateaus, herds of llamas, and stunning rock formations. The trail is peaceful, allowing you to fully enjoy the silence and vastness of the landscape.

Hike to Waqrapukara (approx. 2.5–3 hours)

The final approach rewards you with an unforgettable sight: Waqrapukara, built dramatically on the edge of a canyon, overlooking the Apurímac River valley. Your guide will explain its history, architecture, and the myths behind this mysterious Inca fortress.

Exploration + Lunch

Enjoy time to walk around the site, explore terraces, ceremonial platforms, and lookout points. Then recharge with a fresh boxed lunch or picnic prepared by our team.

Return Hike + Transfer Back to Cusco

We return along the same trail and meet our transport. Then we drive back to Cusco, enjoying the changing landscapes of the Andes.
