Your adventure begins early with private transport from Cusco to Capuliyoc, where the Apurímac Canyon reveals dramatic landscapes right from the start. After meeting your muleteers and enjoying the first panoramic views, the descent begins. You’ll wind down the canyon on a warm, dry trail surrounded by mountain walls and lush vegetation. We arrive at Chiquisqa, a semi-tropical campsite, where our trekking chef prepares dinner under a sky full of stars.

Today is the toughest and most rewarding climb of the trek. You’ll begin by crossing the Apurímac River, then ascend through switchbacks toward Marampata, a peaceful Andean community and the perfect rest point. After lunch, the trail continues gently toward the plateau where the Choquequirao complex hides within the mountains.
We arrive at the archaeological site in the afternoon, explore the upper terraces, and enjoy a breathtaking sunset. Camping is set near Choquequirao, surrounded by silence and mountain energy.

After an early breakfast, you’ll explore the entire Choquequirao complex with your AllPackers guide. This includes ceremonial temples, agricultural terraces, the huge llama terraces, religious platforms, and hidden sectors still being restored.

After an early breakfast, we begin our descent from Choquequirao, enjoying the last panoramic views of the Apurímac Canyon.
We hike down to Chiquisqa, and then continue toward Capuliyoc, where our private transportation will be waiting (don’t worry—no extra steps required).
From Capuliyoc, we drive back to Cusco, arriving in the late afternoon. A hot shower and a well-earned dinner will feel like paradise.
